AGILITY

Leaps and Bounds run an incredibly successful and hugely popular agility programme suitable for any age handler to take part in. We offer training for those who are looking to compete or are just looking for a bit of family fun and exercise.

We understand how important it is to build your dog’s confidence on the equipment and train your dog in a step-by-step process before you go flying off on obstacles that in all truth, can be quite daunting and dangerous if your dog is not trained properly. After the basics have been mastered, you will be able to participate in a variety of courses, ranging from the simple to the complex and work on your distance control. Through this your dog will gain confidence and a serious need for speed. Of course, the safety of your dogs is always our main concern, which is why all activity will be supervised by a professional and all our equipment has been fitted with a rubber, non-slip material.

Agility really is a great form of exercise mentally and physically for your dog. We advise that dog’s do not start agility until they are a year old, and their growth plates have fully fused. However, if you want to get started, we do offer sessions where we will work on ground level skills until they are old enough to start going over jumps. Alternatively, if you wanted to start a dog sport where your dog is learning to work at distance and no jumping is required, we do offer Hoopers which is a great low impact sport, any dog can participate in.
