SOCIALISATION SESSIONS
KINDERGARTEN
Kindergarten is our structured session especially designed for puppies who are not yet fully vaccinated. After the pups are 3-5 days clear of their first vaccination and have completed the necessary booking forms, you will be invited to attend a safe and supervised puppy session. The session is for 30 minutes, during this time you puppy will have the opportunity to begin to grow their confidence, they will be introduced to equipment like puppy ball pits, tunnels, different surfaces, and objects. Then they also have the opportunity to make a little furry friend and begin to learn how to socialise and play. You also have the chance to ask the trainers any questions and get helpful advice to help you in these early stages of your puppies development. All of this will take place at Bouncers Barn our fully enclosed indoor training centre at our Dog school in Bartlow, where we are able to make the area and equipment sterile and safe for the young puppies to enjoy. These sessions are held on Saturday’s at 5:30pm, costing £10.
Encounters runs every Thursday at 5.30pm and every Saturday at 3.30pm. This is a half an hour on/off lead session, where your puppy will have the opportunity to interact with other puppies of a similar age, forming positive relations with others of all breeds and sizes and learn their manners. You as a handler will also learn puppy to puppy introduction skills and the beginning of recalls from play. To attend this session, all puppies must be fully vaccinated (7 days clear of their second vaccine), as the play session is held at our enclosed field or indoor training centre. However, if your puppy has only had the first vaccination, we do offer a structured play session called Kindergarten for those not fully vaccinated to begin to grow in confidence and start to learn how to play and interact with other puppies of a similar age. Each session will cost £10 and your place will need to be booked each week via the WhatsApp group.
PUPPY ENCOUNTERS
What better way to socialise your pup with other dogs than a structured puppy play session with others of a similar age (and maturity level) in a safe and secure environment.
Beginning your puppy’s social education from an early age is crucial as they begin to learn the social skills required to grow up into a well-balanced, self-assured dog. These sessions give them the opportunity to learn doggie etiquette and build relationships with other breeds through introductory play. You as a handler will also be shown the skills to help teach your puppy to remain calm around other dogs, learn the correct way to introduce them to another dog on the lead, or equally important, not to assume they can say hello to every dog, teach them to come away from another dog when asked and generally allow them to grow in confidence in natural surroundings.
When your pup is confident enough, we will invite you to move up to our Teenage Tactics group.
TEENAGE TACTICS
Is our newly re-structured socialisation sessions for larger, older more bouncy and boisterous pups. These sessions are for dogs who have attended Encounters and are confident in playing with other dogs but now struggle to disengage from play time with their friends and recall back to their owner away from other dogs and/or people.
Teenage Tactics runs every Monday at 5:30pm and is a half hour on/off lead session. During these sessions we introduce working on a longline and through game-based training we teach the young dogs to disengage from other dogs around them and focus on the game with their handler.
These sessions give the dogs the opportunity to continue to develop doggie etiquette and build relationships with other breeds through social interactions and play. You as a handler will also be shown the skills to help teach your puppy to remain calm around other dogs, learn the correct way to introduce them to another dog on the lead, or equally important, not to assume they can say hello to every dog, teach them to come away from another dog when asked and generally allow them to grow in confidence in natural surroundings.
